Mauka Graveyard

Located where the Old Bellfry (Bell Tower) is. The area was recently cleaned as can be seen in the pictures. Only one head stone for Mrs. Adelucia Lee Conde, 1810-1855. She was the wife of the Rev. Daniel Joll Conde served Wailuku Station (Ka'ahumanu Church) from 1848-1856.

Also in the area is a large unmarked Hawaiian burial. To some it may look like just pile of pohaku (stones). Mahalo to Wilson Kanaka'ole for restoring the Pohaku of the Iwi Kupuna.

It is said that John Honoli'i & Thomas Hopu are buried on the property somewhere in and unmarked grave. John Honoli'i & Thomas Hopu were two of the four Hawaiians that came back to Hawaii with the first company of missionaries on the Thaddeus from Boston. These four also studied in New England with Henry Opukaha'ia.
